I spent most of July buzzing around Finland. One week here, a few days there. I wasn't supposed to have anything to do this summer, but stuff kept coming up and I kept saying "yes". The best summers happen like that.

Summers are for travelling, so there'll be a little pause over here. If any of you know anything about this Glossom-thing give me a shout. I've been sent an invitation, but I'm not sure I want to join just yet. I'm a student-to-be, not a career builder.

Is it just me, or was it a cold June this year? We had some of that hazy, rainy weather that I love. I dug up the good old Lomo LC-A and took some shots. It wouldn't wind the film, so I only got 11 exposed frames on a roll of 36.

I keep telling myself: It's not like this is the only type of thing I'll ever do in my life. It's okay to be cliché and naïve. This is just a cut-section of my life as it is now, in this time.

Last month I secretly filmed this cute couple being cute. This morning I had a letter from Pekka Halosen akatemia(=a vocational art school here in Finland) and they're offering me a place on a 2,5-year course in art! I feel like the acceptance letter is going to crumble and just vanish, but luckily letters don't do that. I remember sitting in a hot classroom crammed with applicants for three days just pounding out ideas on paper and being absolutely exhausted and thinking I'm turning in work that isn't good enough. I get to study art full-time for almost three years.

I'm completely obsessed with double exposing, still.

So, I've optimized viewing over here for 1024x768 display resolution and it looks good for me! Hope it's displaying alright for you guys, too.

I spent almost a week at my dad's cabin. It rained, it didn't rain, the water is low this year and rodents had chewed the bark off from the roots of pine trees. The seagulls have made a nest in an unusual place this year. Perhaps more to come.

Let me know if you're having some side-scrolling issues on this blog. I don't get those, but some of you might.

Went to the zoo about a month ago and saw animals in cages. Also, I tried to nail this portrait of us again, but I continue to experiment with it.

Another month or so and I get to be in this place again. I'm taking someone with me there and it makes me nervous. I don't want us to get there only to find he doesn't see any point in watching the waves rolling in and out.
